Extruder Feeder Design for Quick Cleaning and Fast Product Changeovers

Economics and customer demands often require processers to change products on extrusion lines several times daily, which can involve disassembling and cleaning the feed roll and bearings on conventional extruder feed sections.  This paper shows a new design feed section that hinges open in seconds to allow full access for cleaning and maintenance.  The designs unique power train also addresses many of the durability and maintenance issues that plague conventional designs.
