Biographical Sketch: Florian Lemke, M.Sc. (RWTH) chairs the working group Rubber Extrusion at the Institute of Plastics Processing (IKV) at RWTH Aachen University, Aachen, Germany. His current fields of research include an energetic optimization of the continuous vulcanization process as well as physical and chemical foaming of elastomers in extrusion and injection moulding.
He joined the IKV as a scientific researcher and PhD student (mechanical engineering) in 10/2013 after finishing his master thesis „Basic research on the production of continuous fibre-reinforced high-performance components made of liquid silicone rubbers (LSR)“ in the field of plastics technology in 09/2013. Parallel to his studies in mechanical engineering, he has been working as a student assistant in elastomer injection moulding at the IKV since 02/2012.
