Biographical Sketch:
Prasad Raut is a graduate student in the Department of Polymer Engineering at The University of Akron. After finishing his master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, India; he joined University of Akron in fall 2012. He is working under the guidance of Dr. Sadhan C. Jana on enhanced filler dispersion and hysteresis reduction using polybutadiene grafted copolymers for CB and CB/SILICA hybrid filler systems for tire tread materials. His other work involves development of ionogel membranes for lithium-ion batteries. currently he is also working as a Graduate Industrial Assistant (Intern) at PolyOne Corporation, Avon Lake OH. Prasad has received 2016 Ohio rubber group Graduate scholarship. In 2015, Prasad also received Paul Glasgow Student Scholarship from ACS Rubber Division and first place for best oral presentation at the Center for Tire Research (CenTire) Industry Advisory Board Meeting held in Akron Ohio. Prasad is an active member of Society of Plastic Engineering (SPE), ACS Rubber division, American Physical Society (APS) and Materials Research Society (MRS).
