Biographical Sketch: Deidre Tucker graduated from the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, Jamaica with a PhD in Inorganic Chemistry. The title of her doctoral thesis: “Effects of Bayer Process Impurities on Gibbsite Crystallization”. In Jamaica she taught aspects of Analytical and Applied Chemistry at the Collage of Arts Science and Technology (since upgraded to University of Technology, Jamaica). Deidre was previously employed to UOP (now UOP-Honeywell) for 10 Years where she worked on teams that were involved with the development of desiccants for Airbrake and Refrigeration applications. She joined the Materials Development group at SKF Sealing Solutions in 2004 where she is currently the Analytical Lab. Supervisor. Her responsibilities include coordinating the characterization of rubber, raw materials and development of analytical tools.
Professional Membership: ACS, ACS_RD. Currently serves on the Executive Board of the Chicago Rubber Group as Director of Manufacturing and is also a member of the Education Committee.
