Biographical Sketch: I was born and raised in Akron, Ohio. I graduated from Wadsworth High School in 2004. I then began a B.S. degree in Chemistry from The University of Akron. While perusing this degree I had the opportunity to spend two semesters as an intern at the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. My time spent at Goodyear was first in the Goodyear Metrology department where I was charged with the duties of an FT-IR spectroscopist. My second semester at Goodyear was spend in a compounding and physical testing lab where small batches of rubber were mixed, milled, cured, died, and tested, all in one lab. In 2009 I began my graduate work under the advisement of Dr. Li Jia in the Department of Polymer Science at The University of Akron. I am currently in my fourth year of study, and working on a thesis dealing with biologically inspired thermoplastic elastomers.
