Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Larson earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at Michigan State University working for Professor Larry Drzal in the Composite Materials and Structures Center with an emphasis on interphase formation in composite materials. He performed research on structural adhesives for composite materials at General Motors Research in the Polymers Department for 2.5 years. He then joined the Compound Science Group at Goodyear for 6.5 years investigating novel materials including carbon nano-fibers and organoclay nanocomposites, resulting in 4 US patents. He spent 4 years in the aerospace industry in R&D for Schneller, manufacturer of fire-resistant wall paper and flooring for aircraft. Brent consulted for three years in the rubber industry before joining Cooper Tire in 2011, where he researches materials challenges and develops compounding solutions in the Advanced Technology Department in the Global Technical Center.
