Biographical Sketch: Dr. Pedrazzoli graduated in 2010 in Mechatronics Engineering from University of Trento (Italy). He earned his PhD in Materials Science and Engineering in 2014 from the same university, after spending his last year of graduate studies working at the Georgia Institute of Technology. For his PhD, he worked on the development of multi-scale hybrid polymer composites, investigating how the combined effect of nano-materials and micro-size reinforcing fibers can be exploited to produce lighter and stronger composites.
Dr. Pedrazzoli joined Case Western Reserve University (Department of Macromolecular Science and Engineering) as a Research Associate in the Fall 2014. His research focuses on investigating and developing innovative polyurethane nanocomposites as an alternative to the epoxy systems used in structural applications. Dr. Pedrazzoli’s current studies are also centered on the development of numeric modeling to predict functional properties such as electrical and thermal conductivity of polymer nanocomposites.
