Biographical Sketch: Daniel Armstrong is a third year Ph. D. student at North Carolina State University who completed his Master’s Degree in December 2014. He currently works in the Polymer Morphology Group under the direction of Dr. Richard Spontak where his research focuses on the design of thermoplastic elastomer gel systems for applications in electroactive polymers, smart materials and flexible electronics. He did his undergraduate work at the University of Alabama where he was a scholarship swimmer and 2012 Olympic Trials qualifier.
