Biographical Sketch:
Ulrich Wendler, born 1968 in Halle/Saale (Germany), studied Chemistry at the Technical University of Clausthal and University College Cork (Ireland). After the Diploma thesis (1995, Clausthal) in Macromolecular Chemistry he did his PhD-thesis in the same subject area at the Technical University of Berlin in 1998. The dissertation was performed in close cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute of Applied Polymer Science in Potsdam. Towards a four year long stay at Linde AG, Gas division, in Leuna, Burghausen and Brunsbüttel he returned to Fraunhofer to build up the Fraunhofer Pilot Plant Center for Polymer Synthesis and Processing in Schkopau. Today he is responsible for the department “Polymer Synthesis” there.
