Biographical Sketch:
Michael Bartke studied chemical engineering at the Universities of Dortmund and Halle-Wittenberg, both Germany, and graduated 1998. After PhD-studies in polymerization technology at Technical University of Berlin, he spent five years in industrial polyolefin research at Borealis Polymers in Finland. Since 2006, Michael Bartke is professor for Polymer Reaction Engineering at Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg, a joined appointment with Fraunhofer Society. Prof. Bartke is also responsible for the Fraunhofer Polymer Pilot Plant Center in Schkopau, Germany. Prof. Bartkes main research interests are in polymerization technology, in particular in polymerization kinetics, scale-up of polymerization processes, and kinetic modelling and process development of polymerization processes.
