Biographical Sketch: Dr. Michael Heinz was born in 1957. He studied physics at the University of Karls-ruhe and did his doctorate at the Max Planck Institute for Iron Research in Düssel-dorf. 1987 he jointed Degussa AG as the head of the rubber laboratory. Between 1994 and 2002 he was the head of the Reference and Development Laboratories and between 2003 and 2010 he was the responsible manager for rubber filler characterisation at the Evonik Degussa GmbH. At 01.07.2010 he undertook the task as Manager Research & Development; Applied Technology Tire & MRG of the Evonik carbon Black GmbH and a year later he became Director Applied Research & Development, Applied Technology Tire & MRG of Orion Engineered Carbons in Kalscheuren. Since 01.07.2013 he is the Head Rubber Performance Laboratory, Applied Technol-ogy Rubber Filler of Evonik Industries AG in Wesseling near Cologne.
