Biographical Sketch:
Simon Leimgruber studied Environmental Systems Sciences with the focus on Chemistry at the Karl-Franzens University and Technical University of Graz (Austria). During his studies he completed several internships in Italy like at GKN Driveline Bruneck in the biological waste-water treatment plant and in the section for health, safety and environment. Further he participated an internship in Shanghai (China) at BASF in the paper R&D laboratory. In his Master thesis he was working on “Cross linked Layer-by-Layer Polymer Coatings with integrated Layered Silicates” at the department of physical chemistry. He gained his Master of Science in 2012. In the same Year, he started his PhD-thesis at the Polymer Competence Center Leoben GmbH (PCCL) and the Institute for Chemistry and Technology of Materials of the Graz University of Technology (Prof. Gregor Trimmel), where he is investigating the rubber-brass adhesion layer. His general research interests are in the field of surface and interface chemistry.
