Biographical Sketch: William Vanooij retired in 2008 from the University of Cincinnati, where he was a Professor in Materials Science for 15 years. Much of his research there involved the study of rubber-metal interfaces in tires. He has worked in academia and industry both in the US and Europe. He has developed novel tire cord coatings, adhesion promoters and other rubber additives. He has published extensively and is inventor on 29 US and 38 EP patents.
