Novel fast curing system for Butyl Rubber

                                                       A new accelerator combination was tried for  curing  butyl rubber in  both carbon black filled and gum compounds . The cure characteristics were studied using RPA 2000.  The compounds were found to be fast  curing compared to a control compound based on sulphur and  MBTS /TMTD combination . The mechanical properties were found to be superior compared to the control compound  . The aging resistance is also found to be superior .The processability  was studied using RPA 2000 was found to be comparable to that of the control compound .
