Biographical Sketch:
Prof. Andrzej Dworak studied chemistry in Dresden, Germany, and obtained his Ph.D. from the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, Poland. He joined the Polish Academy of Sciences, where he is still employed, except for two research stays abroad (as post-doc in USA with Prof. Jim Harwood and in Germany with Prof. R.C. Schulz). At present he is heading the Laboratory of Nanostructured Polymers in the Centre of Polymer and Carbon Materials of the Polish Academy of Sciences, where he simultaneously acts as the director. His scientific interest is focused on the living and controlled polymerizations, the synthesis of polymers of non-linear architecture (stars and branched systems) and on the synthesis and properties of stimuli sensitive polymers.
