Visiting Assistant Professor Andrew Magenau, Ph.D. Carnegie Mellon University Department of Chemistry Mellon Institute 4400 5th Ave Pittsburgh, PA USA 15213 Email: amagenau@andrew.cmu.edu Biographical Sketch: Andrew Magenau received his bachelor’s degree in plastics engineering from the Pennsylvania State University with a minor in operations management (2004). Afterward he received his Ph. D. Degree from the University of Southern Mississippi (USM) in polymer science and engineering (2010) under the advisement of Professor Robson F. Storey. His thesis work was titled “Site Transformation and Click Chemistry approaches for Block Copolymer Synthesis and Functionalization of Polyisobutylene.” At USM he was awarded the NSF IGERT Fellowship and received training in technology development. After completion of his degree he joined Professor Krzysztof Matyjaszewski at Carnegie Mellon University as a visiting assistant professor. At present, his work is focused on electrochemically mediated ATRP and the development of materials for biological applications and regenerative medicine. |
