Biographical Sketch:
Professor Cunningham obtained his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Waterloo in the field of polymer science. He then spent six years in the Xerox Corporate Research Group developing new processes for composite nanoparticles. The primary focus of his current research is living/controlled radical polymerization in heterogeneous systems, and the design of stimuli-responsive polymer colloids using switchable surfactants. In 2002 he received the Syncrude Canada Innovation Award, presented by Canadian Society for Chemical Engineering (awarded to a resident of Canada who has made a distinguished contribution in the field of chemical engineering). He holds an Ontario Research Chair in Green Chemistry and Engineering.
