Kühn fulfilled teaching duties at the Technische Universität München since 1996 and at the German Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) in Singapore since 2002. He is author or coauthor of more than 212 scientific publications. The web of knowledge lists him among the most cited scientists in the world with an average citation number of ca. 15 citations per publication in the last decade (according to essential science indicators).
