Dr Silvia Valenti Styron Deutschland GmbH Reasearch and Development Synthetic Rubber Merseburger Straße F17 Schkopau Germany 06258 Email: svalenti@styron.com Biographical Sketch: Silvia Valenti was born in Ravenna, Italy in 1972. She received her doctor degree in Chemistry in 2003 from the Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa, Italy, with a work on iron-based catalysts for olefin polymerization. From 2001 to 2007 she worked at the Research and Development Synthetic Rubber Department of Polimeri Europa in Ravenna, Italy. She was involved in different projects devoted to the development of elastomers based on styrene and butadiene. In September 2007 she joined, as research specialist, the Synthetic Rubber business of the Dow Chemical Company at Schkopau, Germany. Since March 2010 she is employed at Styron Deutschland GmbH. Her present research activities are focused on the synthesis of styrene butadiene copolymers with anionic initiators.
