Mahmoud Assaad Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company Global Simulation Technology Innovation Center - D/431A P.O.Box 3531 Akron, OH USA 44309-3531 Email: mahmoud.assaad@goodyear.com Biographical Sketch: • In 1976 he received a Diplome d’Ingenieur Civil-Section Travaux Public, from Universite’ de Saint-Joseph, Ecole Superieure d’Ingenieur, Beirut, Lebanon • In 1979 he received a M.S. degree in Structural Engineering from Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa • In 1983 he received a Ph.D. from the same university with Engineering Science & Mechanics as a Major and Applied Mathematics as a minor • In 1990 he received a second M.S. degree in Polymer Science from the University of Akron, Ohio. • He has authored 16 publications. • Co-author of the Composite segment of The Pneumatic Tire book. • Taught short courses on Plastics and Elastomers in Engineering Design in Pisa-Italy, Mersh-Luxembourg, Garmish-PartenKirchen and Hamburg Germany. • Invited speaker to the 2009 “The Annual Workshops Materials’ days at the University of Rostock”,Germany • Invited speaker to the “Akron Physics Club”-Spring 2009 • Holds over 50 U.S., European patents and trade .
