He was born in Bersebrück, Germany, in 1955. He studied Physics at Westfälische-Wilhelms-Universität (WWU) in Münster from 1976 to 1981. From 1982 to 1986 he worked as a scientific assistant at the Institute of Applied Physics at WWU. He received his PhD in Physics in 1987. From 1987 to 1994 he worked at Robert Bosch GmbH in the advance development for driver assistance systems and was responsible for Series Development of Adaptive Cruise Control from 1995 to 2001. From 2002 on he is head of the research Institute for Automotive Engineering (FZD). Prof. Hermann Winner has applied more than 100 patents in the field of Automotive Engineering. |
