Biographical Sketch:
M.S. 1985 in Structural Engineering, Tianjin University, China. Ph.D 1989 M.S. 1987 in Engineering Mechanics, University of Wisconsin-Madison. 1998-Present: Principal Development Engineer, Goodyear Innovation Center. Research areas: computational mechanics, rheology & viscoelasticity, green tire measurements, manufacturing process modeling of mixing, extrusion, tire building/shaping, inverse design, optimization. 1990-1998: Senior Research Associate, Ohio Aerospace Institute and NASA Lewis Research Center, Cleveland. Research areas: CFD, material processing analyses, Heat & Mass Transfer, solidification, advanced FEM, numerical techniques. Awards: Goodyear Inventor of the Year, Design Optimization of an Extruder Flow Channel Insert, 2005. NASA Certificate of Recognition for significant technical contributions to several space experiments. American Society of Mechanical Engineers (21 years) American Society of Rheology (21 years) Publications and US Patents Over 60 in-depth journal and conference papers in the areas of manufacturing process modeling, CFD, non-Newtonian fluid mechanics, extensional rheology, heat & mass transfer, finite element analysis, etc. 6 US patents (trade-secretes).
