Biographical Sketch:
René received his M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands in 2006. His external traineeship was carried out at Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario, in Canada, where he worked on "Adaptive extremum-seeking control applied to bioreactors". During his M.Sc. project "Numerical and experimental analysis of multiple Chua circuits," he worked on synchronization of chaotic systems. Since July 2006, he is a Ph.D. student in the Dynamics and Control group. His research focusses on tire modeling using finite elements, with special attention to friction models. Several dedicated small-scale and full-scale experiments are performed and analyzed. His Ph.D. project is performed in cooperation with Apollo Vredestein B.V. and TNO Automotive. His defense is planned for December this year.
