Biographical Sketch:
Reza Mirzaeifar is an assistant professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Virginia Tech. He has been working as a Postdoctoral Associate at Massachusetts Institute of Technology prior to joining VT in 2014 and has received his PhD in 2013 from the George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology. His research is focused on theoretical and experimental study of shape memory alloys, computational materials science, biomechanics, soft materials, carbon-based materials, and designing bio-inspired materials. He has published a book chapter, 25 journal papers and more than 30 conference papers in proceedings.
