Biographical Sketch:
Head of R&D and leadership team member of the global business line Keltan Elastomers of ARLANXEO. Studied Chemical Technology at the Eindhoven Technical University (M.Sc., cum laude, 1986) and Polymer Chemistry (PhD, 1991) (on emulsion copolymerization) under the supervision of prof. A.L. German. He was a postdoctoral fellow studying Oganometallic Chemisty under supervision prof. R.H. Grubbs at Caltech, CA, US (1992). He also holds an executive MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management/Erasmus University. He started his professional career at DSM Research. He held various positions like amongst others project leader, competence manager and director in the field of polymer chemistry and catalysis. He has gained broad experience in both classical and (post-)metallocene polyolefin catalysis, and in particular EPDM and UHMWPE process and product development from lab scale via pilot plant scale up to commercial introduction. He has been responsible for numerous process optimisations and new products, and has been the driving force of Keltan ACE technology, starting with catalyst development until introduction at commercial scale. Co-author of 27 scientific publications and 35 patent applications.
