Biographical Sketch:
Mr. Ngeow Yen Wan is a Research Officer attached at Malaysian Rubber Board (MRB). He obtained his Bachelor Degree and Master of Science in Chemical Engineering at Universiti Putra Malaysia. He was awarded a scholarship from Malaysian Rubber Board and he is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London. His research interest is on the development of eco-tyre using sustainable and environmental friendly materials. His research involves compounding of silica-filled tyre rubbers and formulation designs. His study also involved characterising the surface thermodynamic and related physic-chemical analysis of silica nanoparticle and its interaction with tyre rubbers. Silica reinforced rubber is becoming an important choice of rubber compound for eco-tyre production. One of his researches in tyre compound development is recognised of its value through winning of gold medal in the 24th International Invention, Innovation and Technology Exhibitions (ITEX) Malaysia.
