Biographical Sketch: Andrea C. Charif is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Polymer Science at the University of Akron. In March of 2009, she obtained a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia in Bogota, Colombia. She joined Dr. Puskas’ group as a Ph.D. candidate in December of 2009.
Her research interests include the use of block copolymers in lithium ion battery technology, to overcome the efficiency barriers relate with the charging-discharging cycles, as well as application of the flexoelectric properties of Bent-core Liquid Crystal Elastomers.
