Research interests and areas include nanotechnology, processing-microstructure-environment-mechanism-property relationship of materials, nano-structured materials and devices, smart materials, composites, processing, testing, modeling, analysis, simulation, material design, polymer physics, etc. More than 60 refereed journal and international conference publications that have been cited by other researchers more than 500 times. One of the papers was No. 1 of ScienceDirect TOP25 Hottest Articles of International Journal of Plasticity, July to September 2004. R&D Achievement Award (2008) and Inventor of the Year Award (2013). Two granted US patents.
