Biographical Sketch:
The author holds a BSME from WPI University, an MS in Metallurgy from Stevens Institute of Technology, and an MBA from the University of New Haven. He is a member of the Rubber Division of the ACS and a senior ember of both ASME and SPE. He is a registered professional engineer, licensed in the States of New Hampshire and Connecticut. His work in the Rubber and Plastics Industries began in 1964 as a summer intern with the Farrel Corporation. From 1973 to 1989, he served Farrel in various technical and sales capacities. Since 1990, he has headed Gooch Engineering Associates. His firm provides engineering and technical services relating to plant layout, process design, mixing and compounding equipment, mills, calenders and calendering operations. He is the author of several papers on subjects pertaining to Calenders, Calendering, Mixing and Compounding Equipment, and the design of process facilities comprised of such equipment.
