Biographical Sketch: Mr. Engel is an IP attorney who concentrates his practice in intellectual property law with a focus on patent preparation/prosecution and opinion work, primarily in the chemical arts.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Engel gained over 10 years of experience in industry. While in industry, Mr. Engel worked at Sika Corporation for several years holding numerous positions, such as chemist, research scientist, and production manager, where he developed and manufactured acoustic and structural materials and products for automotive, industrial, building, and construction markets.
Mr. Engel holds a B.S. in Chemistry from Michigan State University, an M.S. in the Economics of Chemistry from the University of Detroit Mercy, and a J.D. from Thomas M. Cooley Law School. He is licensed to practice in the State of Michigan and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
