Biographical Sketch: Dr. Edward Casserly received his B.A. in Chemistry from the University of St. Thomas (1979) and his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Rice University (1984), both in Houston, Texas. He is currently Director - Refinery Research and Development for Ergon, Inc in Jackson, Mississippi. Ergon Refining is the largest manufacturer of naphthenic base oils and process oils.
Prior to joining Ergon in 2010, Ed was Technical Director for Schumann/Steier, Inc. and previous to that Manager of Product Support for Penreco and Senior Research Associate at Penreco and Pennzoil Products Company. He has been involved with R&D and technical support for specialty petroleum products for over 28 years. He is a co-inventor on 7 US patents on synthetic hydrocarbon fluids and co-author of 18 scientific publications.
