Compression Stress Relaxation, Test Approaches, Configurations, and Modeling

This paper will expand on some of the testing performed in a previous paper presented in 2012 at the ACS Rubber Division Fall Meeting called “A Parametric Evaluation of Hardness, Compression Set and Compression Stress Relaxation”. It will discuss additional expanded testing on a range of test part configurations, to note how the compressive response varies with different part configurations for two different materials. These results will be noted in the context of how these responses can be modeled to help predict service life.
