New advances have been made recently in internal mixers for rubber mixing.  One is the introduction of a new tangential rotor for mixing not only high silica loaded materials, but for other types of compounds as well.  Data will be presented to show the new rotor’s versatility with high silica recipes, as well as, tire and non-tire carbon black recipes, belts/hoses, seals, etc.  Another improvement is a new hard facing coating that gives a check free surface on rotors/sides that will extend the life span of a mixer.
