Sven Burghardt, Dipl.-Ing. Sven Burghardt, born in Querfurt (Germany), started his studies at the University of Technology in Dresden after completing military service in 2004. Choosing the interdisciplinary degree course of mechatronics he could assemble knowledge and experience in different engineering applications ranging from software development to mechanical calculations and modeling processes. After graduating in 2009 with a thesis assignment about the modeling and simulation of various electric motors he has started a PhD project at Cranfield University, Bedfordshire, UK. Part of that project is the modeling of rubber materials concerning energy dissipation.
