Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Gregory Von White II received his B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Virginia Tech in 2006 and later received his PhD. in Chemical Engineering at Clemson University in December of 2010 under the mentorship of Dr. Christopher L. Kitchens in the area of nanomaterial synthesis, characterization, and processing. He began his postdoctoral tenure at Sandia National Laboratories in May of 2011 under the mentorship of Dr. Robert Bernstein. His current research activities focus on the understanding aging and degradation of polymers in high consequence applications. This work includes the development of lifetime prediction models, elucidation of degradation mechanisms, and leveraging this knowledgebase towards technologies which aim to detect, identify, and mitigate aging.
