The main focus of the project was to investigate the photophysics of a specific conjugated polymer chemosensor system in the solid state. The purpose of the project was to develop a chemosensor system that is highly sensitive and selective towards metal cations, where it can be used in environmental applications to detect toxic metals in contaminated water. I am now currently on a path toward obtaining my PhD at Stony Brook University, where my main focus is to analyze structural properties of soft materials using synchrotron x-ray radiation, including small-angle x-ray scattering (SAXS) and wide-angle x-ray diffraction (WAXD). I have gained a significant interest in studying the structural development of rubber materials under deformation using synchrotron radiation. |
