Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Amy Randall is currently a materials research scientist at the Bridgestone Americas Center for Research and Technology in Akron, Ohio. Dr. Randall’s research interests include: novel functional polymers in tread for wet traction, rolling resistance, and wear improvement; fundamental studies to enhance polymer strain-induced crystallization; and water-based adhesive development. In addition, her duties include acting as a safety/hygiene officer. Dr. Randall obtained her Bachelor degrees in Chemical Engineering and Chemistry in 2002 from The University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. Her Ph.D. was completed in 2006 from The University of Akron in the Polymer Science Department, specializing in The Transitional Flow Behavior of Entangled Polymer Solutions. She is committed to community involvement through volunteerism and was awarded the 2011 Women of Professional Excellence Award for the greater Akron area.
