Polyfil® DL kaolin was previously introduced in the 1980’s to improve gas permeation resistance in a halobutyl compound when used in place of carbon black.  This technology has been very useful in improving the performance of barriers through the reduction in both air permeation rates and material costs.  This paper introduces a new break through that should take these gains to a new level.  We will discuss this technology approach and the benefits that can be gained.
