Electrical insulation compounds based on EPDM rubber vary widely in physical and electrical properties, due to their base polymer and the type and levels of compounding ingredients employed.  Lion Copolymer EPDM has been successfully used in medium voltage electrical insulation for several years.  The company is dedicated to continuous improvement.  In this spirit, we have built upon our experience with RoyalEdge® 4919P-1 to develop new polymers that employ our new Clean Catalyst Technology.  This technology further reduces ionic impurities found in the traditional polymer to maximize the lifecycle for critical applications such as underground residential power distribution systems.  These reductions in impurities will further improve performance in wet electrical applications while improving processing and extrusion smoothness.
