HC19 Integrating Design Transfer with Technology and Product Development

Thursday, October 13, 2011: 2:00 PM
Meeting Room #13 (The I-X Center)
Jerome Parmer, Ph.D., Consultant, Chester, NJ
The presentation will examine the differences and similarities between technology development and product development and how to approach integrating each with the requirements for design transfer in medical devices.  Regulatory requirements as well as the desire for efficient translation into a manufacturing environment can be anticipated early in the development process.  Mapping the needs of successful scale-up back into your work processes, even at early stages of development, can save time and rework late in the game.  Special considerations involving polymeric/elastomeric materials will be discussed as well.
