European R.E.A.C.H. Overview

R.E.A.C.H. (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals) is one single system for registering new and existing chemicals that are manufactured or imported into the EU (European Union).  R.E.A.C.H. elements inslude:

• registration of substances
• supply chain information
• evaluation of some substnace by EU member states
• restrictions o substances of very high concern
• R.E.A.C.H. will manage the chemical registration system

The priorities are on high volume substances and substances with high risks.  R.E.A.C.H. will shift the resposibilities for testing from public authorities towards industry.  This presentation will give an overview of R.E.A.C.H. and how it affects the rubber industry.
