Hons. Degree in Chemistry from The Royal University of Malta, her M.Sc. Degree in Polymer Science from London and her Ph.D. degree in Polymer Science, from The University of Akron in 1984. She has over 25 years experience in industry. Sterling Organics, U.K. 1976, Dowty Seals Ltd. Malta and U.K, 1977-1981. GenCorp/General Tire - Continental A.G., 1984-1991. Since 1991 she has been at Advanced Elastomer Systems, where she is Principal Scientist. Her current research focuses on the chemistry and physics of dynamically vulcanized thermoplastic elastomer blends; including the identification of new elastomers, thermoplastics, plasticizers and vulcanization systems and their application in the development of new or improved TPEs. She is the recipient the "Sparks Thomas” Award and “The Chemistry of Thermoplastic Elastomers” Award by the Rubber Division, ACS. She is the author/co-author of over 30 publications and inventor in over 20 US patents. |
