Biographical Sketch: Joined Engineering Design Unit of TARRC in 1988 after carrying out research on elastic wave propogation in helical springs. Research areas of interest: a) use of rubber for engineering application, b) modelling stress-strain behaviour of rubber for FEA, c) protection of structures against earthquake using elastomeric base-isolators and energy dissipative devices, d) design of passive and semi-active engine mounting systems, e) enhancement of structural damping using elastomers
