Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Burlett received his Ph.D. from the University of Cincinnati in 1976. After post-doctoral studies at MIT, he began working in the rubber industry in 1977, joining Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company as a Senior Research Chemist. His work in Goodyear’s Corporate Research included synthesis of new curatives and antioxidants, modification of polymers, reactive extrusion, studies on polymer-filler interaction, thermal analysis of polymeric systems and compound formulation. He joined Gates Corporation in 2003 in the Advanced Materials Development Group and his work has ranged from rubber compound development for tire valves, pulley dampers, belt and hoses, adhesive development and material characterization. He currently has 18 US Patents and a number of book chapters and publications in the technical literature.
