Use of p-aramid pulp (KEVLAR® Engineered Elastomer) has demonstrated value in a range of tire applications. Incorporation in several tire components has shown benefits in handling, durability and ease of manufacture. Recent data shows that p-aramid pulp, when efficiently incorporated into a tire compound, provides improved reinforcement (stiffening) with minimal or no increase in compound hysteresis suggesting its value for low rolling resistance tires.
