The dynamic modulii of particle reinforced elastomers are quite non-linear at small strains as exemplified by the well known Payne effect.  In addition, the pseudo-static modulus at low strains behaves in much the same way as the dynamic modulus when compared on the basis of similar time scales.  In this work the small strain pseudo-static modulii obtained from constant strain rate ramp tests are compared to very low frequency dynamic modulii obtained from sine cycling tests of a simple PDMS elastomer at varying time scales.  The results are interpreted in terms of recent work on the dynamic properties of filled elastomers.
