Biographical Sketch:
Ray Tuvell is the Manager of the Fuel Efficient Tire Program at the California Energy Commission, the state’s primary energy policy and planning agency. He is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive consumer information program and minimum standards for fuel efficient passenger and light truck tires. Prior to his current assignment he managed programs involving alternative fuels and transportation, energy efficiency projects in the public sector, and alternative energy generation projects involving biomass and cogeneration. He began his career with the California Air Resources Board where he managed the Energy Project Evaluation Section overseeing the siting of new power generating facilities. He has over thirty-five years of comprehensive experience in the energy and environmental fields. Mr. Tuvell has a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Cincinnati.
