Walter retired in 1999 as Managing Director of the Bridgestone Technical Center located in Rome, Italy. Before transferring to Europe in 1994, he was Vice-President and Director of Research for Bridgestone in Akron,Ohio Since 1999 he has served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Akron where he teaches courses in the Mechanical Engineering as well as the Civil Engineering Departments.
