Previously was Research Fellow, Chemtura Corporation (formerly Crompton / CK Witco / Uniroyal Chemical) providing technical service for Royalene® EPDM in the custom mix, thermoplastic vulcanizate (TPV), weatherseal and wire & cable markets. Received a Technical Achievement Award for the development of a new EPDM for TPV applications. Prior to that, held various positions at R. T. Vanderbilt Company, Inc. Edited the 1990 edition of the company’s Rubber Handbook and wrote an article on “Rubber Chemicals” for the Kirk-Othmer Encyclopedia of Chemical Technology. Led a multi-company technical team for an industry effort that overturned EPA regulations classifying the disposal of thiuram and dithiocarbamate accelerators as hazardous waste. Initial emplyoment was with American Cyanamid Company. Worked on the early development of HRH steel belt adhesion systems for radial tires and introduced a European-produced polymer to the U.S. market. Received B.S. and A.A.S. degrees in Chemistry from the Rochester Institute of Technology. |
