Biographical Sketch:
Michael E. Dockins is a chemical engineer and a registered patent attorney licensed in the State of Ohio, the State of Indiana, and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Mr. Dockins is also admitted to practice before the Federal District Courts in the Northern District of Ohio, the Northern District of Indiana, and the Western District of Michigan. He practices law in the area of intellectual property and technology law, specifically, patent, trademark, and copyright law. Mr. Dockins earned a Baccalaureate of Science in Chemical Engineering with course work in polymer sciences, magna cum laude, from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Indiana, and a Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Toledo. While at the University of Toledo, Mr. Dockins also earned a certificate of concentration in Intellectual Property Law. Mr. Dockins served as a Technical Editor for the University of Toledo Law Review. He is the author of Internet Links: The Good, the Bad, the Tortious, and a Two-part Test, 36 U. Tol. L. Rev. 367 (2005). Mr. Dockins is also a contributing author of the legal blog “Anticipate This!” which provides light commentary on the practice of patent law, trademark law, and science & technology.
